Pleaser USA, Inc., a source of sexy, fetish, underground, gothic, renaissance, Halloween/costume and alternative footwear all under one roof, is adding a new burlesque line to its roster: Bordello.
“Burlesque teasingly evokes intrigue, desire and passion, which Bordello achieves through its splashy, over-the-top designs,” said Vanessa Erhardt, the company’s director of product development.
According to Hillary Hunter, director of advertising and public relations at Pleaser, Bordello is the world’s first comprehensive burlesque footwear collection in stock for immediate delivery and was created to fill the void for “quality, innovative, ready-to-wear footwear for these vaudeville vixens,” she said. “Many performers spend hours searching for the perfect shoes to go with their attire, and even once they find the perfect pair, most tend to add details such as ribbons, lace and rhinestones.”
With over 100 embellished style varieties of platform and non-platform shoes and boots in more than 200 color combinations, each “vaudeville vixen” will surely be able to find a suitable pair of shoes for each outfit. Embellishments include rhinestone covered uppers and/or heels, feather and flower detailing, tassels, glitter, sequins and more.
The heel height ranges from 2 to 5.75 inches with retail price points ranging from approximately $40 to $80, with some rhinestoned styles possibly reaching $150.
The line also includes accessories for burlesque dancers and “modern women seeking to add glitz and glamour to their wardrobe,” said Hunter.
Bordello was previewed at an event held at Bordello Bar in Los Angeles in early February featuring almost sold out live performances from burlesque dancers, including La Cholita and Violet Valentine, whom are also featured in the Bordello catalog. "The event was a huge success and our customers and the burlesque performers in attendance offered rave reviews of the new line," said Hunter. "Guests were in awe of the performers and their fabulous shoes!"
On April 20th through the 22nd, Pleaser will be formally presenting Bordello at the International Lingerie show in Las Vegas.
New shipments of the Bordello footwear will be arriving at Pleaser’s warehouse every week until the end of May 2009.
